Gary James Gilmore ~ Nov. 18, 1939 – July 14, 2013


Gary James Gilmore, 73, passed away on July 14, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 18, 1939, in Evanston, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Cook) Gilmore. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. He married Colleen P. Free in Kearns, Utah, on March 8, 1985.

Gary loved to be outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. He was very skilled in woodworking, and had completed several very nice projects.

He worked for a number of years as an engineer in research and design. More recently, he retired from employment with Uinta County.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his son, James “Jay” Gilmore; daughter Dianna L. “Lynn” Gilmore, all of Evanston; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Myrtle) Gilmore, of Evanston; and sisters Flora Wagstaff, of Hilliard, Amy Gaye (William) Narramore, of Evanston, and Betty Scholz, of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred, Bud, J.R., and Lloyd “Gillie”; and one sister, Ellen Lester.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
