Ann Elizabeth Goodwin

Ann Elizabeth Goodwin, 99, completed her life’s journey June 9, 2013.

She was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Portland, Maine, to James and Pauline Emborg. Due to the death of her parents, she was adopted at age 5 by George and Amanda Gunn. She spent her early years in Evanston, and graduated from Evanston High School in 1933.

Ann married Woodrow W. Goodwin (Woody) Sept. 23, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they loved, cared for and successfully raised their two daughters, Jeannette and Paula. Her faithful example was, and continues to be, a blessing to all of her family.

Ann was a homemaker. Her home was a peaceful and welcome place. She was a member of the LDS church, and served faithfully in various church callings throughout her life, but her favorite church assignment was being a visiting teacher.

She loved crocheting, knitting, ceramics and gardening. She was also a member of the UCB and Club Vision for many years. This brought her great joy, and she established life-long friendships.

She is survived by her daughter Paula (Jim) Roberts of Sandy; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody; daughter Jeannette (Dean) Dumas; her parents; and eight brothers.

The family wishes to thank Affinity Home Health Care & Hospice for their tender, loving care, especially Rosemary, Barbara and Elizabeth.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr., where friends called Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment was at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
