EVANSTON — The city of Evanston’s annual citywide cleanup is slated to begin next Monday, May 6, and run through Sunday, May 12. As in previous years, debris can be hauled to the parking lot at the Overthrust ballfields off Sixth Street nearest the interstate.
Residents will have an opportunity during the event to dispose of large items that have collected on their property over the preceding year. Items must be separated, but can include: yard waste, tree branches, leaves, metals — such as dishwashers — aluminum, steel, big household debris, furniture, and carpeting.
Items not acceptable include batteries, paint products, refrigerators and freezers, tires, oil or construction materials. A release from the city noted that some of these items can be taken to the Uinta County Fairgrounds for disposal during the hazardous waste collection event planned for Saturday, May 11.
