EVANSTON — National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday, April 27, and area residents have the opportunity to discard their old or unused medications locally in a way that keeps the drugs out of the hands of others and out of the water supply or waste dump.
A special drop off point will be located the The Junction shopping center — 524 Front St. in Evanston, the SportsWorld parking lot — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Accepted items include prescriptions, over-the-counter pills, liquid medications, inhalers, vitamins, and pet medicines. Residents should leave the medications in their original containers when dropping them off. All pharmaceuticals will be disposed of an an environmentally safe manner.
