EVANSTON — Evanston High School student Jackson Goodro will be heading to Europe on June 15 with Wyoming Ambassadors of Music. Three students from Evanston have been selected to join the group of 200 Wyoming students attending.
The students, who will accompany EHS band director Richard Garcia, must obtain a recommendation and have the ability to raise the funds needed to attend the event. To raise the needed funds for his trip, Goodro and his mother, Sheila McGuire, have been making and auctioning quilts. The quilts are made from donated sweatshirts from friends and people from around the community.
“We are so proud of Jackson, that he has this opportunity. He is a great kid, a straight A student,” McGuire said of her son.
Raffle tickets for the quilt are available for purchase at Davis Middle School during the Evanston Concert Series, or by calling Sheila McGuire at (307) 677-0122.
