Jason Lee Fossey

Jason Lee Fossey, 37, of Evanston, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Evanston Regional Hospital. A resident of Evanston for the past two years, and former resident of Cheyenne, Mr. Fossey passed away following a sudden illness.

He was born on May 14, 1975 in Moab, Utah, the son of Daniel Paul Fossey and Cornellie Dawn Squires. Mr. Fossey attended schools in Grand Junction, Colo., and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1993. He also attended Mesa State College for two years.

He married Melissa Justice on Dec. 24, 2002, in St. John’s Episcopal Church in Green River.

Mr. Fossey was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 11 years, and received his signalman certificate.

His interests included hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, RC cars, reading, watching his children’s sporting events, his dogs, playing video games, camping, church activities, Narcotics Anonymous and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his parents, Daniel P. Fossey and wife, Peggy, of Ouray, Colo., and Cornellie D. Squires, of Green River; wife Melissa Fossey, of Evanston; two sons, Jason Lynden Fossey and Charles Lee Fossey, both of Evanston; one daughter, Anna Elizabeth Fossey, of Evanston; one sister, Sara Domson and husband Darell, of Rock Springs; aunts and uncles Randy Squires and wife Lori of Elko, Nev., Jody Squires and wife Cathy of Fallon, Nev., Patti Fossey of Salt Lake City, Utah, Frank Fossey and wife Roxie of Moab, Utah, and Ron Turner and wife Larraine of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 14 cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Ann Fossey; grandfather Charles Lee Squires; grandmother Anna Irene Squires and grandmother Virginia Elizabeth Fossey,; grandfather Ellsworth Fossey; and two uncles, John Fossey and Charles Lynden Squires.

Cremation has taken place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory in Rock Springs, and a memorial service will be conducted at noon Thursday, March 7, at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 949 Sage St. in Evanston. Reverend Rich Snow will conduct the services. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
