EVANSTON — The National Alliance on Mental Illness - Uinta County is the local chapter of a national organization that seeks to provide support, education, advocacy and referrals for persons suffering from a brain disease. The chapter sponsors a general meeting each month for interested persons, particularly those receiving mental health services, offering both educational and social activities.
This month, NAMI will meet Feb. 21 at the auditorium at the Wyoming State Hospital at 6 p.m. to “Fight Cabin Fever.” The group will be led in some gentle exercises by Audrey Hamilton, a recreational therapist at the Hospital.
“We hope these activities, done while sitting in a chair, will get our blood moving and lift our mid-winter ‘dampened’ spirits,” a release said. “As always, light refreshments will be served. All interested persons are welcome to participate.”
