Wilford Earl (Bill) Bell

Wilford Earl (Bill) Bell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Feb. 15, 2013, at the age of 72, of natural causes.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1940, in Rock Springs to Wilford Ether Bell and Helen Syme Freeman. Bill graduated from South Rich High School, and Weber State University with a degree in accounting. In 1961, he married Sharon Weston; they later divorced.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Lions Club, Elks Club and Eagles. He worked closely with Claude Reay as a driver of the Randolph ambulance. Bill was a strong supporter of the 4-H livestock program and all youth activities. He also served on the Rich County Planning and Zoning Commission.

He was a devoted business owner for many years, and later went on to assist in managing the Howard Woody Ranch in Robertson for 25 years.

In 1988, Bill married Kay Hatch; they were sealed in the Ogden Temple and made their home in Mountain View.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kay; seven children, Tammy Hoffman, Becky (Melvin) Eastman and Sim Bell, Janie (Marty) Sorochuk, Hether (Chris Entzel) Telford, Flint Telford, and Natalie (Kevin) Mock; two brothers, Jack and Bryce; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Helen Marie Kearl; son-in-law Craig Hoffman; grandchildren Sophia and Zane Bell; and great-granddaughter Hadlee Hoffman.

In 1999, Bill received the gift of a liver transplant — please consider being an organ donor.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Randolph LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, and Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the church, prior to services.

Interment will be at the Randolph City Cemetery.
