EVANSTON — The annual Sulphur Creek Ice Fishing Tournament, held Feb. 2 at the Sulphur Creek Reservoir, raised over $1,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. More than 100 participants braved the icy reservoir in search for the big one.
The big winner was Landon Kunzler, who reeled in a rainbow trout measuring in at 23 1/4 inches, winning him the $810 top prize. Second place went to Zach Angelos, who won $540, and Isayah Saavedra’s third place fish brought $270.
“We had a great day with fantastic weather and a good turnout of people,” said Cassidy Tynsky, who organized the event. “Everyone had a good time and caught plenty of fish.”
Tynsky and her daughter, Jordyn — International Miss Tiny Princess Royal Dynasty — who also attended, would like to thank all those who attended and helped make this fundraiser a success.
