Wes ‘Pappy’ Wilson

Former Wyoming resident Wesley R. Wilson, 82, died Jan. 27, 2013, in Gilbert, Ariz.

Wes was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Huntsville, Utah, to Wesley Elmer Wilson and Bessie (Syme) Wilson. He was raised in Utah, and started herding sheep at an early age. He eventually raised his own sheep on his ranch in Wyoming, along with his wife Shirley (Flint) and their children.

He was also a gifted meat-cutter, and did that in one form or another for all of his life. Being blessed with a friendly, outgoing personality made him a fabulous horse-trader, and he could tend bar with equal ability. The thing that Wes liked to do most was shoot the breeze with his friends. He could tell stories for hours, especially if it didn’t matter if they were embellished.

Wesley is survived by his children, Skylar Wilson, of Pinedale; Stormy Morrison; Tami Wilder Miller; Lisa McWilliams, all of Gilbert, Ariz.; and Jay Wilson, of Palm Bay, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No service will be held at this time. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 938, Pinedale, WY 82941.
