EVANSTON — Several events are planned to be held in Evanston and Uinta County as the 18th annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race wraps up here Feb. 1 and 2.
First, “Musher Mania” is planned at the Mountain View Town Hall Friday, Feb. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. Included in the event will be a Calcutta and Relay For Life registration.
The annual “Flapjack Frenzy” is slated for the Heritage Barn in Lyman on Saturday. Feb. 2, from 7 to 9 a.m., followed by the beginning of the Bridger Valley to Evanston stage of the IPSSSDR, at 10 a.m. The stage begins at the Deadhorse Trailhead, south of Mountain View.
The race should finish about 1 p.m. at the North Slope Road, about 30 miles south of Evanston on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, along Highway 150.
Next up will be the Junior Musher Race, set for Saturday at 2 p.m. on the North Slope Road.
The IPSSSDR will wrap up its annual race with the closing awards banquet at the Evanston Machine Shop. The social hour begins at 6 p.m., with dinner following at 7 p.m.
