Maxine Lessenger, 93, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Maxine was born in Teton, Idaho, on March 22, 1919, to the late Mary and Horace Gillette. Her loving husband, Mark Lessenger, preceded her in death.
Maxine lived most of her life in Evanston, where she raised her family and worked at City Drug for 25 years. Maxine was known for her quick wit, and always had a story to share.
She is survived by twin daughters, Anne (Dan) Solis and Diane (John) Turnipseed; four grandchildren, Lisa Scholz, Danielle Goad, Mark Solis and Christopher Laasch; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and the scattering of Maxine’s and her husband Mark’s ashes will be in Wyoming in the spring, after the snow has melted on the prairie they called home.
Contributions can be made in her name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
