The event’s live auction will offer bidders a plethora of amazing items, including fine art; a bass fishing trip for four; two golf trips, including one to Mesquite, Nev., for two nights for four people, new kids’ bikes; an NCAA basketball package for four; and a pool table that will breceive new bumpers and felt to the taste of the auction winner.

Festival For Families has inspired help from many people in the Evanston community. The following story was submitted about such a group:

Ryan Hamblin continues to inspire friends and family to honor his memory, and donate to Festival for Families through sports. From June 27 through July 1, 2012, 20 friends joined together to participate in the fourth annual “Widower’s Cup” in Las Vegas, Nev.

This invitational series of golf tournaments was initiated with Ryan in 2009 to assist in raising funds, originally for Ryan’s medical expenses, but now continuing to donate in his honor.

This year Steve Ellis, Jr., Steve Ellis, Sr., Chris Smith, Chris Gerrard, Chuck Tholl, Scotty McCloud, Jay Hensley, Bobby Mathson, Cliff Tholl, Ralph Lewis, Scott Faddis, Ty Sayles, Brett Hamblin, Bradd Harrell, Clint Harrell, Charley Bauer, Tom Marshall, Kurt Beebe, Jr., Rick Slaugh and Gary Atkinson raised $2,478 in Ryan’s memory to be donated, per Ryan’s wishes, to Festival For Families.

This will be the second year funds have been raised by these comrades and friends to honor a fallen brother and be donated to Festival for Families, to give back to the community Ryan Hamblin loved so much.
