EVANSTON — Representatives from UMF recently donated $1,620 to Angels Among Us for this year’s Angel Tree Progam. The funds were raised from wristband sales at June’s biker rally, and from their annual casino night held in October.
Angels Among Us will have angels on Angel Trees located at Walmart beginning Saturday, Nov. 24. Residents can pick an angel from the tree and return purchased items to the NGL Connection, 933 Main St., by Friday, Dec 7. The Angels Among Us committee would also appreciate monetary donations.
“The monetary donations are used to purchase filler presents for those angels that may have gotten less than their siblings,” according to Maggie Jones, president of the organization. “They are also used to purchase items for angels that may not have gotten picked from the tree or have not been returned.”
Angels Among Us is a non-profit organization. Monetary donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Branch (Account # 538-2074713). Gifts will be distributed to children the week of Dec. 10-14.
For more information, please contact Maggie Jones at (307) 677-3942. Volunteers for wrapping and delivery are also needed during that week. Those wishing to volunteer can contact Sonja Wild at (307) 679-2491, or Rhonda Hayden at (307) 679-6410.
