Oren C. McFadden, 71, passed away quietly at home on Nov. 11, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 14, 1941, in Laramie to Walter Burt and Bessie McFadden. He married Barbara Jeane Aaron Sept. 18, 1976. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Oren was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Scout leader, Young Men’s Advisor, and a high priest quorum counselor, among other callings. For nearly 25 years, Oren worked for Mountain Bell and AT&T, first as a lineman and then as a systems tech. He later established Tel Tech Systems, which he owned and operated. Oren proudly served in the United States National Guard.
Oren enjoyed membership on the Uinta County Museum Board and helping at the Lord’s Storehouse. He loved his die-cast cars and he loved to fish. His passion later in life was writing, and in 2010 he published a book of poetry titled, From the Park Bench.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son Sean A. McFadden; daughters Amanda J. McFadden, Cherylynn E. McFadden and Patricia (Donald) Ryall; four grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Oren was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mac.
The family wishes to thank Compassionate Journey Home Health for their love and support. Memorial contributions may be made to the Uinta County Museum in Oren’s name.
