LYMAN — A Lyman woman died Sunday, Nov. 4, just after 10:30 a.m., after falling from the top of the town's water tower, according to a report from the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, MaryBeth Eyre, 52, was seen sitting atop the water tower, located at the intersection of South Lyman Street and Canal Street, by a resident who contacted authorities.
“Lyman officers and Uinta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and the Bridger Valley Fire Department and EMTs staged nearby,” the report said. “Deputy Brooke Hale observed a woman sitting on the top of the water tower [who] appeared to be upset.”
The report said Lyman police officer Kathy Adams spoke to Eyre via phone, and the woman subsequently put on her backpack and began to climb down from the tower. Eyre then lost her footing as she approached the ladder and fell.
