EVANSTON — On Oct. 31, Travis Stoddard was arraigned in Third District Court on one count of first-degree arson and one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon — a lit cigarette and gasoline.
Stoddard was arrested Sept. 29. His rights were read and explained to Stoddard by Judge Dennis L. Sanderson, as were the possible sentences if he is convicted in the case.
Stoddard pleaded not guilty on both counts. A pre-sentence report has been allowed in the case. The trial is expected to take two to three days to try. The pre-trial is set for Jan. 13, with a trial to follow on Feb. 5.
Dustin E. Winkler was scheduled for arraignment in district court on various drug related charges. That case was sent back to circuit court to be settled there, as the felony count has been dismissed.
