EVANSTON — An Evanston man was treated for lacerations on his head Monday, Oct. 8, after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle along Harrison Drive.
According to a release from the Evanston Police Department on the incident, Travis Lee, 31, was struck by a red Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Janet Kindler, just after 5 p.m., as she exited the parking lot in front of Wally’s Burgers.
“[Kindler] stated she had been in the parking lot of Wally’s and was preparing to turn out onto Harrison Drive,” the report said. “She stated she pulled up to the edge of the parking lot and looked both ways, but did not see Lee riding eastbound on the Harrison Drive sidewalk.”
After receiving medical treatment at the scene by emergency technicians, Lee was transported to Evanston Regional Hospital for additional care.
Kindler was cited at the scene for having expired vehicle registration and inattentive driving.
