The second annual Sulphur Creek Challenge Ice Fishing Tournament — sponsored by Evanston Thunder softball — is slated for Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Sulphur Creek Reservoir south of Evanston at the boat ramp.

“Participants will be allowed to register only one trout — rainbow, brown or cutthroat — so bring the longest one,” a release from the softball team said. “Only trout 16 inches of length or greater will be eligible for the derby. Anglers are encouraged to release all trout less than 16 inches.”

According to the release, in addition to cash prizes for the anglers claiming the three longest trout, a 50/50 raffle is planned, with the drawing at the end of the day at the boat ramp. First prize winner for the longest fish is 30 percent of entry fees; second place is 20 percent of entry fees; and third place will be 10 percent of entry fees.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Evanston Thunder competitive softball team.
