I wanted to write this letter thanking the school district and all its employees for the great work that they do.
On Tuesday, as most of us know, the schools went on lockdown for a brief period. Iíve been reading online and hearing people discuss the incident and many were mad at the schools for not calling them to tell them. I think that they made the right choice to not disrupt the kids and make a big ordeal before they had the facts. As it was, it was resolved and back to school as usual.
My child goes to North Elementary and I fully believe that the principal, teachers, and all the supporting staff would do everything in their power to protect my child and every other child there. They would never allow any harm to come to them if they could help it. Iím happy to know that the schoolís were on lockdown for our childrenís protection.
If there was something happening inside the school that would bring harm to our children, I have no doubt that the staff would try to remove them as safely as possible. Our teachers, principles and supporting staff do not get the thanks that they deserve for dedicating their lives to furthering the lives of our children. The staff at the schools are the first responders for our children while they are at school, so I trust that they have only the best of intentions.
I also want to thank all the staffing of North Elementary for the great work that they do and for always being willing to go the extra mile for our children.
