Matt Roberts

The Uinta County Herald has been the news and information resource for the people of southwest Wyoming and surrounding areas for three-quarters of a century, and our staff works hard every day to ensure that it remains the primary source in the region residents turn to when they need to know what’s happening in their communities.

Rich County, Utah, though separated by a few miles and a state line from Evanston, has been a part of that coverage area for many generations, and we remain committed to helping maintain the relationships between the fine people of Rich County and those of us situated in southwest Wyoming.

Unfortunately, in recent days and for a number of reasons, our coverage of Rich County has seen a decline. We consider this unacceptable, and I have made it something of a “New Year’s commitment” to refocus our efforts to include more coverage of Rich County in every edition of the Herald.

To that end, we have designated Herald staff writer Liz Hoefler, who joined our staff several months ago and is contributing greatly to the Herald already, our Rich County reporter, as well. Liz is very excited about the new challenge, and has already been in touch with many people and organizations in Rich County, working to develop relationships and gather the news and information important to our neighbors “across the line.”

That being said, as with all of the communities we serve, participation from our readers is vital to the success of the Herald, and I strongly encourage Rich County residents to let Liz or me know about important events or happenings in the county’s communities our readers need to know about.

We look forward to hearing from you. You can reach Liz at reporter1@uintacountyherald.com, or me at editor@uintacountyherald.com. Or, just call us at (307) 789-6560.
