Bessie Brown Meadows - July 10, 1921 - Aug. 15, 2013

Posted: Tuesday, Aug 27th, 2013

Bessie Brown Meadows passed away quietly Aug. 15, 2013. She was born July 10, 1921, to William
Ezra Brown and Jeanette Neilson Brown in Almy.

As a child she
divided her time between the family ranch north of Evanston, located
on the Bear River near the Woodruff Narrows, and their winter home in

She graduated from Evanston High School. In Oct. 1941
she married her lifelong companion, LeRoy J. (Roy) Meadows and
moved to the family farm in Chalk Creek east of Coalville, Utah, where
they raised three children.

They later solemnized their wedding vows in
the LDS temple. She was active in the LDS church and served in many
roles and capacities.

She worked at Deanís Cafe in Coalville for over 25
years, where she made many lifelong friends. She also worked at the
Rexall Drug for the later years of her working life.

Retirement came
hard for her, and if not for failing health she would have preferred to
continue working. She was an accomplished seamstress and a very
talented artist.

Her family was everything in her life. She was very
generous and loving to everyone in her life. She will be greatly missed
by all.

She is survived by three sisters, Sarah Robinson (Evanston),
Delora Bateman (Kemmerer), and Bernice Warner (Coalville, Utah); daughter, Dianna L. Meadows (Holladay, Utah); sons, Brad Meadows (Midway,
Utah), and Val L. (Mitzie) Meadows (Coalville, Utah); four grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by Roy, her husband of 70 years;
two brothers, Jim and Bob; two sisters, Agnes and Eleanor; one
grandson and a granddaughter.

A special thanks to Aimee Wilde and Dr. Scott for their love and care
over the years; also Aunt Bernice, Donna Bryson and June Wilde; and the
staff at The Family Tree and Hospice of Utah for all you have done for

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Coalville Stake Center at
1 p.m. with a short viewing for family and friends at the church from
10:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Coalville
Cemetery. Condolences may be sent through www.goffmortuary.com
