Madelon R. Desmond

Madelon R. Desmond, 83, passed away June 8, 2013, at the Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital due to natural causes stemming from a lengthy illness. Madelon was born in Green River Feb. 5, 1930, to parents John Avard and Drucilla Rollins, and lived most of her life in Green River. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948, and married Jack Desmond on July 7, 1950.

Madelon worked for 10 years as a PBX operator for the Union Pacific Railroad, and for 35 years as co-owner of the Desmond Motel.

She was actively involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, and always enjoyed activities with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Stevens, along with her husband and parents.

She is survived by her sister Ellouise Bratke; son Robert Desmond; grandson Ryan Desmond; great-grandson Aiden Desmond; niece Dru Ann Hill; and nephews Von Desmond, John Bratke and Dave Bratke.

A family graveside memorial service will be held at Evanston City Cemetery, where her ashes will be laid to rest.
