Joseph Junior Andersen

Joseph Junior Andersen, 84, passed away on March 7, 2013, at Evanston Regional Hospital.

He was born on March 8, 1928, in Evanston, the son of Joseph Randa and Alice Mae (Brown) Andersen.

He married Anna Lou Carpenter on Nov. 3, 1946, in Evanston, and they later divorced. He then married Helen Pearl Hinshaw Dean, and she died in June 2007.

Junior served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a 65-year member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed bowling and dancing, and enjoyed a good game of pinochle. Ranching was his life.

He is survived by his sons, Donald E. (Mary) of Casper, Joseph G. (Sandy) of Mountain View, and Gary (Sarah) Dean, of Evanston; daughters Linda Lou Bonner, of Evanston, Susan K. (Dennis) Barker, of Mountain View, Michelle (Scott) Burkart, of Puyallup, Wash., and Christy Dean, of Lander; 22 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Charles and Ray; and sisters Irene, Shirley and Rae.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Richard and David; a stepson, Teddy Dean; son-in-law Quintan Bonner; and a sister, Alice.

Funeral services will be held at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston on Tuesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held Monday at Crandall Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., as well as one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery.
