Our hero, Virgil Forman, 82, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, at home in Evanston, surrounded by family.
He was born in Carter on Sept. 12, 1930, to Leonard and Alethea Forman. He joined the Navy on Oct. 20, 1947, and served until July 1962, when he was honorably discharged.
Virgil met and married Katherine Snow McKinney on July 23, 1956, in Elko Township, Nev. They had six healthy children.
He is survived by daughters Cindy Forman, Virgie Torres, Tina and Cody Spencer; son John and Tina Forman; grandchildren Krickett (Tyler Briggs), Lupita and Christopher Serna, Mauricio, Riley, Federico, Cecilia (Christopher Kauffman), Imelda, Rosita, Lydia, Jocelyn, Cody Jo, Breanna, CJ; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; brothers; wife “Aunt Kay”; and two daughters, Norma and Dot.
Virgil chose to be donated to the work of science, so there will be a memorial service held at Uinta Bible Baptist Church Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m.
