Helen Arlene Burns, 77, passed away Jan. 2, 2013, in Evanston.

She was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Evanston to Thomas Orlando and Anna Ellen (Jacobson) Mills Sr.

She married Gerald Don Burns Oct. 17, 1964. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1999.

Helen loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed keeping in touch through social media with her iPad and computer. She enjoyed crafts, camping and outdoor activities at the family cabin. She was also a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos.

Helen is survived by her son, Glenn Archer, of Evanston; daughters Lori Newingham, Linda (Bob) Liechty, and Jerri Dawn (Marc) Crompton, all of Evanston; brother Thomas Orlando (Nancy) Mills Jr., of Hungry Horse, Montana; and sisters MaryAnn (George) Barker, of Randolph, Utah, and Lanna Dee Mills-Pool, of Lolo, Mont.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
