George Raymond Sparrow

George Raymond Sparrow, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Lyman.

He was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, to Edward and Mary Sparrow on Feb. 20, 1945. He spent his childhood in Scotland, and was an active soccer player and champion. He eventually moved to Virginia, where he spent most of his life. He had a great love for the ocean, owls, wolves and muscle cars.

He then moved to Lyman with his family. He made many friends and enjoyed the time he had with his niece, Mary, whom he considered a daughter.

He wanted it to be known that he wasn’t mad at anyone, and loved everyone. He was loved more than he’ll ever know, and will be greatly missed by all.

George is survived by his sister, Virginia (Thomas) Burkett; nieces and nephews William, Valorie, Kevin, Christi, George, Audra, Thomas, Nikki and Amber; great nieces and nephews Alicia, Hohnathon, William, Maria, Mary, Crystal, Christopher, Virginia, Brandon, Britany, Christina, Samantha, Shane, Lila, Thomas, Breeanna, Ashley, Stormy, Raymie, Destinie, Johnathan and Mathew; and great-great-nieces and nephews Kera, Alanis, Wyatt, Julian and Sheridan.

George was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Billy.

Private graveside services were conducted Monday, Nov. 26, at the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
