Posted: Tuesday, Nov 3rd, 2009

Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Jean Cleone Henderson Morris, age 81, returned to her Father in Heaven on Oct. 31. Jean was born on Jan. 31, 1928 to Martin and Elva Henderson, in Evanston. She was the youngest of three children and greatly admired her sisters, Alice and Marta.

She married Junior Wesley Morris on Aug. 3, 1945. They resided together in Evanston. Junior and Jean were blessed with four beautiful children, Mike, Patty, Karen, and John. Her world revolved around her children. Junior passed away on Jan. 5, 1992 and she missed him dearly. On July 14, 1994, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved animals especially her dog, Bear. She was very loving and would always be the first one to help anybody in need. Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jean is survived by her sons: Mike (Nancy) Morris, Anchorage, Alaska, and John (Debbie) Morris, Green River; daughters: Patty (Larry) Hanks, McKinnon, and Karen (the late Tony) Pharr, Evanston. Additionally she is survived by her sister, Marta Gunter of Kemmerer, 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior; parents, Martin and Elva; a sister, Alice; a son-in-law Tony Pharr; granddaughter, Jessica Hanks and a lifelong friend, Jeanette Jacobsen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Crandall Funeral Home, and again from 10 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Evanston Wyoming Stake Center, 1224 Morse Lee Street at 11 a.m. on Nov. 5, with Bishop Gary Welling officiating.
