Posted: Monday, Dec 24th, 2012

EVANSTON — The Evanston Parks and Recreation District and Pine Creek Resort, in Cokeville, are offering “Learn to Ski/Snowboard” and “Ski/Snowboard for Less” programs during a five-week session scheduled for Jan. 19 and 26, and Feb 2, 9 and 16.

Registration began Dec. 3, and is being conducted at the recreation center during its normal hours of operation. Bus transportation is limited, so sign up early. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.

A $5 discount is given if registered by Sunday, Jan. 13. Youths under 10 years of age must be accompanied on the bus by an adult.

Fees for the Pine Creek program are: $245 for youths 6 years and up, which includes lessons, rentals and lift pass; $220 for youths 6 years and up includes lessons and lift pass, but no rentals; $145 for kids 3 years and up, which includes lessons and rentals; and $120 for youths 3 years and up, which includes lessons only — no rentals.

Those 3 to 5 years old will receive ski lessons only; no snowboard lessons are available. Each fee includes bus transportation and a two-hour lesson each day.

In conjunction with the ski school a “Ski/Snowboard for Less” program is being offered the same session dates, at a cost of $140 for 6- to 12-year-olds, and $175 for 13 years and up, per session. The fee includes bus transportation and a ski pass each day. Kids ages 5 and under are free with a paying adult.

Bus transportation is limited, and available on a first come, first served basis. Once bus seating is full, passes can still be purchased at the prices listed, but participants must provide their own transportation.

In addition, skiers and snowboarders can purchase single day passes to Pine Creek for $28, for 6- to 12-year-olds, and $36, for those 13 years and up, for any one of the four Saturdays during the session. Single trip passes will be sold at the rec center, and must be purchased by the Wednesday prior to the desired bus trip date. Bus transportation is included.

Except where included in the lesson package, rentals are $15 per ski or snowboard package, for all ages.
