Former Red Devil named International Player of the Year

Former Evanston High School basketball player Jaycee Carroll recently received acknowledgments for his contributions to his professional team Real Madrid in the Liga Endesa in Spain.
The league held its "Gigantes Awards," similar to the ESPY awards, on January 18, 2016, and the Wyoming shooting guard received the Top International Player of the Year.

The dual meet Tuesday turned out to be another stereotypical meet for the Evanston boys swim team, as they had two more swimmers qualify for state.
Tuesday, at the Pinedale duals, senior Hans Jetkoski-Defries and junior Brandon Sitz qualified for state in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.

Over the course of the season Evanston swimmers have continually to racked up state qualifying times and that trend persisted this weekend as well.
The Evanston boys swim team met up with two other southwestern Wyoming teams Saturday in Green River -- Green River and Rock Springs.

The Lady Red Devils (5-10) made the five-hour trek to Casper over the weekend to face conference-foes Natrona and Kelly Walsh.

Lyman swimmer has year-best time; breaks pool record

GREEN RIVER -- The Lyman swim team may have some of the fastest short-distance swimmers in 3A and it showed Saturday in Green River.
Last Saturday at the Green River Invite, senior Charles Lallatin swam the 50-yard freestyle in 22.37, which gave him the pool record -- impressive at a 4A school for a 3A swimmer.

GREEN RIVER -- It seems as if at every meet or invite, someone from the Evanston boys swim team qualifies for state.
Another week in the books and another diver qualified for state.
Freshman Isaiah McLemore qualified for the state tournament last Saturday at the Green River Invite, scoring 314.2 points.

Wrestling defends home floor in conference dual

EVANSTON -- The Evanston boys wrestling team had a three-day wrestling binge this week.
First Thursday, at home, in a dual meet against Rock Springs and then they hit the road for the Tiger Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Friday and Saturday.

ROCK SPRINGS -- The Evanston boys basketball team headed east, just down the road, for two away games this week on Thursday and Saturday and earned themselves a split.

Evanston qualifies one for state in Cheyenne

Last Friday and Saturday, the boys swim team competed in Cheyenne-South's pool for duals and the South Invite.
Friday EHS battled with three other schools, Rock Springs, Riverton and Cheyenne-South.
They went 1-2, losing 120-62 to Rock Springs, beating Riverton 100-55 and losing to South 100-76.
As a team, the boys are unable to keep up with the bigger 4A
