EVANSTON — Over the weekend, the Lady Red Devils took on the two teams tied for the No. 2 ranking in the state according to WyoPreps but weren’t able to knock off either of the Casper powerhouses as they lost to Natrona County on Friday in four sets (25-21, 20-25, 25-27, 20-25) and Kelly Walsh on Saturday in four (19-25, 25-22, 15-25, 18-25).

“We’re playing on and off, and I think when we play on, we’ve proven that we’re a pretty good team,” EHS head coach Tera Lawlar said following Saturday’s loss to Kelly Walsh, “but we have to turn it on a lot more than off. I challenged them for this Friday that if you’re on the court, you’ve got to be on. If that means that you come and regroup when you get on the bench and get a drink of water, you can turn it off for a second if you can’t handle that kind of intensity for that long. Of course, not all the players have that luxury.”

Friday’s game against the Fillies was marked by the pink jerseys the girls wore in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
