Fresh Air, Freedom and Fun planned for Independence Day

EVANSTON — The city of Evanston’s annual Fresh Air, Freedom and Fun Festival is set for Thursday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hamblin Park.

The annual event will feature a host of fun and games for kids and families, topped off by the great fireworks display courtesy of Porter’s Fireworks at dusk.

On the schedule of events for this year’s event are:

• 8 a.m. – ERH Fun Run

• 9:45 a.m. – Children’s Freedom Rally Parade

• 10 a.m. – 3-on-3 basketball tournament

• 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. – Food court, csrnival games, bingo, inflatables, barrel train, climbing wall, candy cannon and sawdust treasure hunt.

• 4 p.m. – Rotary chuck wagon dinner, watermelon bust.

Great music will be on tap at the festival. Acts will include:

• 1 p.m. – Local classic rock group Cold Fusion

• 2:45 p.m. – Local singer/guitarist Blaine Blonquist

• 4 p.m. – Salt Lake City-based classic rock group The All-Starrz
