WYDOT to remove traffic light at Wasatch and Harrison

Posted: Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

The traffic signal will be replaced with a stop sign controlled intersection for Wasatch Drive. The current overhead street lights will remain to illuminate the intersection.

Basically, we looked at many things, from traffic volume, pedestrian volumes, safety, idling delays and even fuel costs of stopping at the light. After taking all this information in, we decided the signal is not warranted. It just comes down to efficiency, District Traffic Engineer Damon Newsome said.
