EVANSTON — Evanston police are looking for information following a pair of shootings in the city Tuesday, Jan. 15, and Wednesday, Jan. 16.

According to information provided by the Evanston Police Department, the first incident occurred in the early evening of Jan. 15, when a townhome on Barrett Avenue in south Evanston was fired upon several times. The report indicated a suspicious white passenger car had been seen in the area at the time of the shooting.

Then, in the early morning hours of Jan. 16, officers responded to the Hillcrest Hotel on Harrison Drive on a report that a black SUV with two occupants — and sporting a white sticker in the back window — had driven through the hotel’s parking lot, during which time the passenger fired a single shot into the hotel.

“At this time, we are unsure if the incidents are related,” Evanston police Lt. Bill Jeffers said. “There were no injuries reported from the shootings, and we would appreciate any information anybody has concerning these shootings.”

Those with information in the cases call the police department at (307) 783-6400 or the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (307) 783-1000.
