EVANSTON — On Oct. 1, area residents who hosted a SAFE Kids Poker Run donated $1,087 and 28 bike helmets to the SAFE Kids Program in Evanston. The SAFE Kids Program wants to thank everyone that supported the SAFE KIDS POKER RUNS.

Samantha and Ray McBroom wanted to thank their brother and sister bikers for making the event a great success as a result of their donations.

“It’s great to know we have so much support in our community and bikers to help the kids and families,” they said. “Just because we ride motorcycles or have tattoos doesn’t mean we are bad. Some of us are cops, attorneys, doctors, dentists, judges, welders, oil field workers, pharmacists, school teachers and your neighbors. We hope to see even more again next year.”

The pair also thanked the residents and the businesses that donated time and items to the poker run, including Marsha and Ian Redding, Spanky’s, Cycle City, 1st Bank, Wells Fargo, Howard Johnson, Walmart, Allstate, Cowboy Joe’s, NAPA, Uinta Realty, Greenhorn, Wally’s, Pizza Hut, Deru’s Glass, Bunny’s, The Notch, Badland Lanes, Stock Exchange, Goin South, the Evanston radio station and Uinta County Herald, as well as those who placed posters in their windows.
