The Evanston Chamber of Commerce will host the fourth annual spring fever “Spice the Ice” Chili Cook Off this Saturday at the Evanston Machine Shop (1440 Main Street).
Cooking will begin at 10 a.m. and doors will open to the public for chili tasting and a host of other fun-filled events at 4 p.m.
The annual chili cook off helps sponsor programs through the Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses in the community.
Chamber Director Dawn Darby said the event is directed toward adults, with a bar serving beer and mixed drinks.
“The chili cook-off is an adult activity. There is nothing for children to do except taste chili. There are no children allowed after 8 p.m., so anyone who does bring a child will be asked to take them home by 8 p.m. From 8 to 11 p.m. it is strictly for adults,” Darby said.
