Evanston Hungry Children Backpack Program

Trona Valley Credit Union and the Evanston Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for a food drive for the Evanston Hungry Children Backpack Program now through May 10. Drop donations off at Trona Valley or the Chamber. All of proceeds will go to the program.

United Ladies of Iron

307 Strength hosts a United States of America Power Lifting (USAPL) competitive event showcasing female powerlifters on May 4 at Impact Physical Therapy at 96 Yellow Creek Rd. in Evanston from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Free to the public.

Fundraiser Breakfast

The Eagles Auxiliary will host its monthly breakfast from 9 a.m. – noon on Sunday, May 5, at the Eagles Club at 921 Front St. Cost is $10 per plate; $5 for children 10 and under. All proceeds go to local charities.

Yard Waste Collection

Every Monday beginning in April through Oct. 28, yard waste collection site is open at 591 Union Road from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Residents haul to the site. The city will only collect yard waste, nothing treated. Trees, limbs, leaves, garden waste, grass clippings and shrubs are acceptable. Compost and wood chips are available for sale. One yard minimum sale for $40 for cubic yard of compost, or $30 for cubic yard of wood chips. $20 curbside delivery per load available within city limits. Silver Hawks Energy Exchange will present during this month’s Lunch & Learn at the Legal Tender from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $12 for chamber members, $15 for non-members. No charge if not eating.

Many regional employers will be available to conduct interviews, schedule future interviews and hire on the spot. The Spring Job Fair will be at the Evanston Machine Shop from 12:30 to 6 p.m.

Free Shred Event and Food Drive

Donate food items for the Evanston Hungry Children Backpack Program. Free community shred event from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or until the truck is full at the Uinta Recycling Center. Cardboard will also be collected.
