Some Herald readers miss Friday’s C-section
Posted: Tuesday, Aug 19th, 2008

Many Uinta County Herald readers did not receive the C-section of Friday’s newspaper.

The C-section included all of Friday’s classifieds, legal notices and other advertising.

The section was inadvertently left out of the newspaper by the Herald.

“We sincerely apologize to our advertisers and those subscribers that did not receive the section,” said Herald Publisher Mike Jensen. “This is one of those cases where an oversight led to the section not being included with the entire paper.”

For each week’s newspapers the Herald sends the paper to the Green River Star to be printed. From there the Herald’s driver picks it up and delivers it to the Herald mailroom on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

When the newspaper has several sections, such as the A-section for news and community items and B-section for sports and classifieds, the mailroom staff inserts or packages the multiple sections and preprints together to create the finished newspaper.

This Friday, with a large number of classifieds and legal notices, there was supposed to be an additional section with just classifieds and legal notices.

After discovering Friday’s error, The Herald staff, including office manager Sandy Bentley, began working to get the C-section to as many subscribers and other readers as possible.

“We couldn’t catch the papers that go out by mail, but we set out extra C-sections at all of our vendors and racks and even hand-delivered a few to customers who called in,” Bentley said.

Anyone wishing to get a C-section from Friday’s paper is encouraged to stop by the Herald office. In addition, according to Jensen, all classified display advertising will run again in today’s issue at no charge.
