The Evanston City Council meeting on Tuesday approved the second reading of an ordinance permitting Evanston pawnbrokers to report transactions electronically to law enforcement agencies.
They also approved lowering the age of persons who do business with pawnshops.
The city council also passed resolutions. The first resolution enables the police department to apply for funds for a Spanish-speaking advocate for the Wyoming Division of Victim Services for the 2010 fiscal year.
A second resolution that passed Tuesday evening was for the third amendment to a cooperative agreement with the Wyoming Department of Transportation for the 11th Street-Harrison Drive project.
The final resolution agreed on by the city council was to authorize Staker Parson Companies complete the work on the street overlay summer project.
Honey said they received three bids for the project, one from Consolidated Paving for $271,000, a second from Staker Parsons for $251,000, and a third bid from Advanced Paving for $287,000. He said that Staker Parson’s bid would save the city over $20,000.
The City Council work session scheduled for Aug. 11 will be held at the Roundhouse, said City Clerk Jim Davis.
